A scarce and desirable porcelain place card holder by Karl Ens, Germany, in the form of a Wire Fox Terrier dog. Karl Ens was in business from 1919-1972. The company is well known for their fine quality porcelain figurines. This place card holder is an oddity, scarcely seen, and really quite charming. It measures 3" tall by 3 1/2" long and is fully hallmarked. Please see our other auctions for more vintage Wire Fox Terrier and other dog figurines. 11x8" with a couple of small what look like rust spots.  He's standing on a rush seat, barley twist stool because he can.  Somewhere between 1910 and 1930 I'd guess.
